The starting point
Who hasn't experienced this feeling? Skis parked, gondolas stopped running, hunger pangs – and the only thing open is the freezer section in the supermarket. Bad Gastein has a lot to offer. But a vibrant evening restaurant scene was long missing from its offerings.
We experienced this ourselves. Not as observers—as hosts, to whom guests told us at 10 p.m. that they hadn't received anything for hours. It's not a law of nature. It's a loophole.
And we decided: This gap belongs to us.
The decision
A conscious decision for a better quality of life: We want to spend our days in the mountains, enjoying leisure time and recharging our batteries – so that we can be there for you better than ever in the evenings.
The idea
Nightlife is not a marketing concept. It's an attitude. We work when it gets dark. — so you can eat when you're really hungry.
Wood-fired pizza at 11:15 pm. Brook trout after a long day of hiking. A glass of wine when the evening is just beginning. This is the blue hour.
From now on, Jägerhäusl is the only business in the valley that feels that way.
First guests, first pizzas. The wood-fired oven is hot.
Full service. All dishes available. The valley is alive.

Open until 1:00 AM. Daily (Wed–Sun). No joke.
The gap
We observed Gastein: From 9:30 pm onwards, the lights go out in the valley. No kitchen, no place for a nice glass of wine, no space for good conversation. We fill this void.
From 10 pm onwards, the Jägerhäusl transforms into the exclusive meeting place of the night. A place where you can not only enjoy first-class food, but where you can want to stay.
Whether for a late steak at the pass or a cocktail in a historic setting – we offer the space that Gastein has been missing. Well-maintained. Honest. Open-ended.
From 10 PM onwards, we are the only place in the valley where you can truly arrive. Not as a stopgap – as the first choice.
For the hosts of the valley
The Jägerhäusl will become an exclusive meeting place for night owls, late arrivals and our esteemed colleagues from the catering industry.
We know how it feels when your own service ends and you're looking for a place to relax and unwind. With us, you'll find an open kitchen, drinks at the bar, and genuine conversation.
The atmosphere
No candlelight kitsch. No après-ski noise. Something in between — and better than both.

Our pizzas have been baked in the same oven for decades. The smell that permeates the restaurant isn't a marketing strategy—it's real.

Built in 1828. Generations of stories in its walls. We haven't turned the house into a museum — we've kept it alive.

No reheated leftovers at 11 pm. What we serve at 6 pm, we also serve at midnight — with the same standards.

Opening Hours & Days Closed
Two days off per week and no more lunch service. We're doing this with complete conviction because we want to be actively outdoors during the day, switch off, and experience the valley for ourselves.
A team that rested and motivated, he works, cooks better. Service quality doesn't come from endless shifts, but from genuine enthusiasm for the guest. You can't command that enthusiasm. But you can nurture it.
We have decided: Quality of life over quantity. Five exceptional evenings per week instead of seven mediocre ones. Valid from April 13, 2026.
Tip: In summer (from June 20th) we are available for you from 12 pm on weekends!
Delivery service
You want wood-fired pizza, but you want to eat it in your socks on the sofa? Understandable. That's why we deliver.
Not as a last resort. As an extension. Same quality, same ingredients — directly to your home or holiday apartment.
Because some evenings are simply too cozy to leave the house. But nobody has to miss out on a good meal.
